Nearly 2.9 million people in Arizona or 45% of Arizona’s population are at an elevated risk of wildfire. These 2.9 million people reside in what is called the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). A WUI is an area where structures and other human development converge with undeveloped wildland and rural areas. This expansion into wildland areas has significant implications for wildfire management.

Is your home and community prepared for a wildfire? Do you know your community’s largest wildfire threat? Do you know your escape routes and what to do if one or multiple of them were to be compromised? Click your county/community below to learn more about the wildfire risk near you and how you can become better prepared.

*Some counties may not have a CWPP or may have an outdated one. If your county does not please look for your community. The WFGI did not/does not create these. The WFGI researches CWPP’s for education and informational purposes.
